STEVEN J. GEIGLE - BIOGRAPHY

In 1976 Steve earned a B.S. in General Science from BYU and in 1979, while serving in the U.S. Air Force, I earned a M.A. in communications/human relations from the UNC. In 1989, after a 20-year military career Steve retired in Portland, Oregon. More recently, he has earned two graduate-level certificates; Training and Development, and Managing the Training Function from Portland State University. He was awarded the Certified Safety Health Manager (CSHM) certification by the Institute for Safety and Health Management (ISHM) in 1999.

He has over 30 years experience as an educator and instructor in a wide range of technical and general subject areas: missile launch operations, occupational safety and health technical and management topics, organizational development, general management and leadership, international relations, business, communications, history and strategic planning. He has taught courses of study at Utah State University, Embry Riddle Aeronautical University, The 4315th Combat Crew Training Squadron (USAF), and Oregon OSHA.
He has also served the business community as a safety consultant, writer, human resource manager, safety director, and training program manager in both the private and public sectors. For 16 years, Steve was very busy developing and presenting occupational safety and health workshops and nationally-recognized interactive computer-based training (CBT) as a senior safety education specialist and online training program manager with the Oregon Occupational Safety and Health Division (OR-OSHA). Currently Steve is employed as a Health, Safety and Environmental Training Specialist and Program Developer with Vestas Americas.
